Federal election law requires political committees to use their best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation and the name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in an election cycle. Contributions are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Corporate and foreign national contributions are not permitted.
 
Individuals may contribute a maximum of $5,000 - $2,500 for the Primary election and $2,500 for the General election. Multi-candidate PACs may give a maximum of $10,000 - $5,000 for the Primary election and $5,000 for the General election.
