Ocean Champions PAC
Cordially Invites You
to join us for an ocean reception to support the re-election of
Senator Mark Begich of Alaska
Chairman of the Commerce Committee's Oceans Subcommittee
Tuesday, September 17, 2013 ~ 5-7 p.m.
223 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington, DC
With 44,000 miles of shoreline and predictions of rising seas becoming a reality, Alaska needs an ocean champion. Fortunately for the state and for us, they have Senator Mark Begich. Senator Begich, a native son and former mayor of Anchorage understands that Alaska is “ground zero for the impacts of climate change.” Since winning his Senate seat in 2008, he has been a leader on ocean issues. He became Chairman of the Commerce Committee’s Oceans subcommittee after only two years in office, and has protected important fisheries conservation laws, promoted research to better understand the arctic ecosystem, led the fight against genetically modified “Frankenfish” and worked to improve coastal water quality. Senator Begich is a true ocean champion and we are proud to support his re-election in 2014.
