There is nothing finer than enjoying good company in a beautiful setting. And last week, as we gathered on the picturesque rooftop deck of the Jones-Day building for the annual Ocean Champions' reception, we had both in plentiful supply.
We were joined by ocean champions in the Senate and House (some pictured here, full album on our Facebook page), 50+ Capitol Hill staff, and members of the ocean community including organizational and thought leaders, philanthropists, and activists. And while the food, drinks, and views were terrific, the ideas that emerged were even better.
Every year we look forward to this opportunity to bring everyone together and honor ocean champions in Congress. As you know, many of them are in the midst of fighting to keep their seats. Our collective support of them is critical to continue elevating ocean issues on Capitol Hill.
On behalf of Ocean Champions' Directors and Advisors, many of whom were in attendance, we want to thank our Host Committee, the gracious Jones-Day event planners, and all of our friends on Capitol Hill and in the ocean community for making this year’s annual event so extraordinary.
For the oceans,
David, Chris and the entire Ocean Champions team
