Dear Friend, Here are two great west coast candidates that NEED OUR HELP NOW! These races are neck-and-neck and last-minute support for them could make a big difference. Here's a little more detail on each race: Nick Leibham is running a very tough race against incumbent, Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-CA) in one of our nations most beloved ocean regions, the 50th District of California, which includes San Diego, Cardiff, La Jolla and Del Mar. Ocean enemy Bilbray has given lip-service to the oceans while voting against them, and Ocean Champions has called him on the carpet for his actions. The protection of the environment and oceans is one of the cornerstones to Nick Leibham's campaign. Recent polls show that Nick is rapidly closing the gap, but he needs your help! We have given the maximum amount that we can to Nick, we now need you to step up and help him out. Visit his donation page here. Mark Begich, is running against Senator Stevens (R-AK), one of the "lions of the Senate," who was just this week found guilty of failing to disclose gifts from lobbyists in a federal trial. We endorsed Mark Begich because we need a new generation of ocean leadership in the U.S. Senate. Begich, a lifelong Alaskan who is currently in his second term as mayor of Anchorage, understands the importance of healthy oceans to the lifestyle and economy of Alaska and the country. Nowhere are the oceans more integral to the economy than in Alaska, which has by far more coastline than any other state in the country. Begich understands that Alaska is "ground zero for the impacts of climate change." If you care about protecting wild Alaska you must contribute to Mark Begich today, so that he defeats Stevens. On your behalf, Ocean Champions has made significant contributions to both of these candidates. You can influence the future of our oceans on Election Day by contributing TODAY to these candidates. Thank you for everything you're doing. For the oceans, The Ocean Champions Team P.S. Start a wave for the oceans and tell your friends about Ocean Champions. It's never been more important! Take the survey. JOIN US IN THE CAMPAIGN FOR OCEAN HEALTH! |
