Tell Congress to pass VAWA!

The Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization (VAWA) is moving in both the Senate (S.47) with 50 cosponsors and in the House (H.R.11) with 157 cosponsors. The Senate could vote on VAWA as early as this week.

Shockingly, the Republican-led House blocked the Senate-passed inclusive VAWA in the last Congress. Instead, the House Republicans cut critically needed protections for students, immigrant women, LGBT and Native American communities, causing a stalemate leaving us with no reauthorization for the first time since the original VAWA passed in 1974. We can't let this happen again. Urge quick action!

Tell your Senators and Representatives women deserve immediate passage of the VAWA reauthorization. We must pass this vitally needed measure as introduced. We can not - must not - accept a watered down version that does not benefit ALL survivors.
