Tell Senate Republicans: "Don't Filibuster a Woman's Right to Equal Pay for Equal Work"
Let Senate Republicans know that you expect them to allow an up or down vote on this critical legislation to protect the ability women workers to sue for wage discrimination.
The Bush Supreme Court’s summer 2007 decision in Ledbetter gutted pay discrimination protections for women workers, upsetting decades of legal precedent. It left victims of pay discrimination completely without recourse unless they filed a complaint within 180 of the initial discriminatory paycheck. This ignores the fact that an employee often is not aware of the pay discrimination until much later. The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act is critically needed to correct this egregious ruling.
Tell Senate Republicans that a filibuster of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act is a filibuster of women's rights to equal pay for equal work.
