Wiesenthal Center - Halt Construction Now!
[As of Dec. 4th, 300 people have taken action. Keep it up!] The Museum of Tolerance is a project organized by the Simon Wiesenthal Center (MoT), to build a world class center in Jerusalem to teach the value of well, tolerance. A controversy has been brewing for sometime around its location, which is to be on the site of a former parking lot that was also a Muslim graveyard in the past.
Palestinian and Israeli peacemakers in Jerusalem are leading a campaign to get the Wiesenthal Center to halt construction of this project. Charles Lenchner, an American-Israeli activist and peacemaker has written an article explaining why.
This page lets you send a protest via fax to the Wiesenthal Center Director and the three heads of its board of trustees. They are:
- Larry Mizel, Chairman of the Wiesenthal Center.
- Nelson Peltz, Co-Chairman of the Wiesenthal Center.
- Ed Snider, Co-Chairman of the Wiesenthal Center.
- Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Director of the Wiesenthal Center.
Each of these men is a wealthy contributor to both the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Republican causes. They need to hear from you that the Museum of Tolerance project in Jerusalem is wrong, offends Palestinian and Muslim sensitivities, and will serve as a monument to intolerance. In short, it is and will remain a PR disaster that will irrepareably damage the Wiesenthal Center.
Special Instructions: 1. Please do take action no matter what country you live in. If you are writing from outside North America, choose 'other' in the 'State' field. Faxes will not be delivered without minimal address information. 2. Include personal details. 3. Write respectfully, to impress upon these Wiesenthal Center leaders that this project will be a disaster. 4. If you are Jewish or Israeli, please include that information in your letter, so that the Wiesenthal Center understands that this is not an action directed against Jews or Israel.
