Tell President Obama and your other elected officials to legalize and tax marijuana!

In an online "town hall meeting" on March 26th, President Obama was asked whether legalizing marijuana might improve our economy.  He laughed derisively, mocked people who use the Internet and answered "no, I don't think that is a good strategy to grow our economy."  Watch the video.

President Obama is wrong.  There's lots of evidence that legalizing and taxing marijuana would help our economy and our nation.

According to Harvard economist Jeffrey Miron, "Federal, state and local governments spend roughly $44 billion per year to enforce drug prohibition."  Miron adds that "These same governments forgo roughly $33 billion per year in tax revenue they could collect from legalized drugs, assuming these were taxed at rates similar to those on alcohol and tobacco."

That adds up to $77 billion per year that could be spent on rescuing homeowners, and putting people back to work.

Please take action now.
