Mondale and Me (More FISA Revelations)

I was flying back to the states from Kristiansand, Norway, after receiving an award and was flying on the leg from Oslo to London. The flight's purser pointed out one of my "countrymen" sitting in 2D. I had already been recognized on the flight by the crew because I had won the award and been on Norwegian TV. The purser pointed to seat 2D and told me that it was Walter Mondale.

Refelctions on 9/11

The 7th anniversary of September 11, 2001 is approaching and it seems like a good time to reflect on what our nation has lost since that tragic day and what we can do to go forward.

Capitalism vs Socialism Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Bail Out

When progressives talk about federal job's programs (not military service); Medicare for all (not Pay or Die health care); free higher education (not just for the elite); tax incentives for industries that are developing or using clean, sustainable forms of energy; or any other social programs to help people the centrists and rightists scream: "SOCIALISM."

It's Never Too Late to Punish Criminals

Shall any man be above justice?  Above all shall that man be above it, who can commit the most extensive injusfice? (sic)

George Mason (Founder) advocating for impeachment at the Constitutional Convention, Philadelphia, 1787

On July 23, 2007, 400 impeachment advocates lined the halls of Congress near John Conyers' (D-Mi) office advocating for impeachment. We delivered over one million signatures to him that had been collected by ImpeachBush.org and AfterDowningStreet.org. The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee not only did not concede to our demands, he had 50 of us arrested for escalating our demands into a sit-in.

Happy Labor Day from Cindy For Congress

The bookends of summer have become the Memorial Day weekend and the Labor Day weekend. To many Americans, the two "long" weekends are nothing more than that, long weekends: chances to travel (not much of that this summer, due to high energy prices); cook-out; catch up on chores, or just relax for an extra day off.

We've Always Been at War with Russ

In George Orwell's tale of dystopia, 1984, the main character, Winston Smith, works for the Ministry of Truth. Winston's job is to make sure the news of the day fits the current propaganda of the Party or Big Brother. When Winston changes the news to fit, the old, incorrect news gets dumped down the "Memory Hole," and the "Proles" of Oceania (where keeping ones TV on 24 hours a day is mandatory---it's also a two way receiver to spy on the citizens) are supposed to alternatively switch seamlessly and unquestioning between: "We have always been at war with Eastasia," or, "We have always been at war with Eurasia."

This is Horseshit

It is not if we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists will we be?
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

You know, I don't care if it's not proper for a Congressional candidate to say: "horseshit." I don't care if it is not a good "tactic" to get kicked out of a Congressional non-impeachment hearing that was just a bunch of horseshit anyway. I don't care if I get accused of being too "extreme" for bucking the (cyst)em by doing everything form camping in a ditch in Crawford, Tx to non-violent civil disobedience to, lately, running for Congress as (oh no!) an independent.

Know Your Place

My opponent for Congress, Nancy Pelosi is using her month long summer recess from doing nothing positive in Congress to promote her new book: Know Your Power. This book is supposedly a (xenophobic?) screed for "America's daughters." Admittedly, Ms. Pelosi broke some kind of invisible "glass ceiling" when she became the first female Speaker of the House, but many of us are wondering if she really knows her "Power?"

We the People vs. The (cyst)em (On the one-year anniversary of announcing my candidacy)

Although I don't want to, I vividly remember the day that Casey was killed in Iraq on April 04, 2004.

I woke up at about 9am because it was a Sunday: Palm Sunday. I went out to brunch with my then best friend, Lynda, and we drank two mimosas each. After brunch, I went home and cleaned house and got my clothes ready for the next week of work.
