I am writing this to you on the fifth Veteran's Day I have mourned the death of my son, Casey Sheehan. Casey was a soldier in the Army. You killed my oldest son with your lies and greed for Empire. Casey never became a Veteran because he came home in one of those pesky flag draped coffins that your mother doesn't want to bother her "pretty mind" with.
There are so many challenges, yes emergencies, facing our nation today. When the USA is sick, the rest of the planet suffers also. My campaign for Congress was about all of these issues: health care, education, affordable housing, independence from fossil fuels, shoring up a crumbling economy, better mass transit and restoring our Constitution and rule of law. Bringing our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan are foremost, but we cannot solve our profound problems unless we institute an agressive policy of Warfare Reform.
Cindy for Congress demanded that Nancy Pelosi debate her opponents in a face to face debate. As of today, of course, her campaign has ignored our requests.
When we have run into her staff out in the city (twice), the response has been: "no answer, yet." When we call her office, as hundreds of people have, we get the run around.
The past few weeks have been a little strange at Cindy for Congress and, I guess the things that have been happening could just be coincidences, or a run of bad luck, but the climate for the possibility of campaign hanky-panky certainly exists.
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson
Has it occurred to anyone else that almost 100% of our elected officials have turned into tyrants? From George Bush, Senator Harry Reid (D-Nv) to Nancy Pelosi and their Congressional minions, they are ignoring the will of the people and are, in fact, collaborating with the banksters to undermine the safety, prosperity and lives of We the People. Many economists are predicting a long and terrible depression and Congress's bankster bailout has only hastened and worsened the crisis.
We are seeing several clear indications that Nancy Pelosi is feeling the heat of our campaign.
Two weeks ago, the Harvey Milk Democratic Club invited Cindy for Congress to their meeting to vote on un-endorsing Nancy Pelosi and endorsing US. The vote was overwhelmingly in favor to have a vote on the two questions. The energy at the meeting was incredible and we felt that we won a victory for the people that night.
Last night, the vote was held at the Milk Club meeting. Nancy Pelosi sent a handful of staffers and her SF Chief of Staff. In what everyone said was an unprecedented move, she even wrote a letter to the club touting her dubious accomplishments. Her staffers acted like right-wing Republicans by shouting down our supporters (which numbered in the dozens) whenever one of them wanted to discuss the issues.
I am watching the debate on CSPAN over HR 1424 the "Emergency Economic Stabilization Act." As you can imagine there is empty rhetoric on both sides of the issue and there is bi-partisan support and opposition. If anything, it's a little more interesting than usual.
Rep Gary Miller (R-Ca), in a rare lapse of guarded "poli-speak" said that this bill would help the "Small People." Meaning, you and I. Fundamentally, that's what we are to the Congressional-Wall Street Cabal---the "Small People."
"Desperate times call for drastic measures." Unknown
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

There are a thousand striking at the branches of evil, to one who is striking at the root.

Presently, everything is so cosmically urgent that we must put partisan politics behind us and humanity in the forefront.

There are four human rights that Cindy for Congress believes are basic to everyone, everywhere:
