June 13, 2012 (Fremont, California) – AB1964, the Workplace Religious Freedom Act, is scheduled for a critical hearing on Tuesday, June 19th in the California Senate Judiciary Committee. This hearing will determine whether or not the bill moves forward. If enacted, AB1964 will sharply reduce job discrimination against Sikhs and other religious minorities.
Urgent Need for Petition Signatures
If you live in California and support equal opportunity for all, please ask your friends and fellow sangat members to sign and share our automatic petition to members of the California Senate. AB1964 simply cannot move forward without strong community support.
The Sikh Coalition is grateful to the California Sikh community for its ongoing support, and also to our interfaith and civil rights partners for supporting this important legislation.
