In celebration of Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month in California, The Sikh Coalition is partnering with 3rd i Films to present "Sikh I Am: Voices on Identity" showcasing three short films about the Sikh identity.
"Three Sikh Americans assert and articulate their identity from a male perspective: Mandeep Sethi’s Sikligar reveals the hidden story of Sikh weapon makers; Harjant Gill’s Roots of Love examines the changing significance of the turban; and Christina Antonakos-Wallace’s Article of Faith is the portrait of activist Sonny Singh who inspires young American-Sikhs to stand up for themselves."
The film screening will be followed by a Q&A discussion with filmmakers Harjant Gill and Mandeep Sethi, moderated by Simran Kaur from the Sikh Coalition.
