  • Sikh Coalition Creates New Educational Materials in Time for Vaisakhi

To celebrate the Sikh spirit, this Vaisakhi, the Sikh Coalition has developed brand new resources to help you explain the Sikh faith to your neighbors. We encourage you to use these materials in your child’s school, public library, or elsewhere in your community. As always, these resources are available free of charge, and can be downloaded from our website.

“Who Are The Sikhs” Poster – Encourage local schools and public libraries to display the “Who Are The Sikhs” poster this month in celebration of Vaisakhi.

To request a poster-size print, please email education@sikhcoalition.org with your name, address, and place where you intend to display the poster.

Sikh Awareness Presentation Demonstration – Ever wondered how to lead a presentation on Sikhs? Look no further! We have provided tips, explanations, and a brief demonstration of how to lead a Sikh Awareness Presentation for both children and adults.

My First Sikh Books – Have you wanted to do a lesson on Sikhs for pre-school children, but didn’t know where to start? No problem! The Sikh Coalition has teamed up with the Lohgarh Foundation to create supplemental materials to accompany the My First Kaur Book and My First Singh Book.

Click here for a packet which includes a lesson plan, connect-the-dots activity, coloring pages, and much more. To order your own copy of the My First Sikh Books set, click here.

Do you have an idea for a lesson plan or other resource that non-Sikh educators or Sikh parents desperately need? We would love to hear your ideas at education@sikhcoalition.org.
