Being a member of the Junior Sikh Coalition will help you gain leadership skills, meet young emerging leaders, and acquire the skills needed to empower your peers. See what our current members have to say about their experiences in this year-long leadership program:
By joining the Junior Sikh Coalition I feel like I can truly make a difference in the lives of others through the workshops and projects we do. The trainings we receive in our weekly meetings have strengthened my skills as a leader. I feel more confident as an individual and am determined to create the change I want to see. – Kiranjit Kaur, 18, Queens, New York
The Junior Sikh Coalition has impacted me in that it put me in contact with a bunch of other kids my age whom I've become very close to over the year. Even though we spawn from different locations in the tri-state area, we get together every Sunday with a common goal of serving our community.
– Namit Singh, 17, New Jersey
By being involved in the Junior Sikh Coalition, I have had the opportunity to speak out about issues my community faces and to also be a part of the solution. Through our workshops and trainings, I have developed many skills, including public speaking and facilitation. I have also gained a network of Sikh teens who are passionate about the same work as I am.
– Kirty Kaur, 18, Bronx, New York
