"Volunteering at the Sikh Coalition is an experience I'll always value. From working with different Sikh Student Associations to helping out in the aftermath of Oak Creek, I was always busy working on important projects. The interns and staff there were a pleasure to work with and are now my role models. Volunteering at the Sikh Coalition made such an impression on me that I decided to join the Junior Sikh Coalition!"
- Namit Singh, Summer 2012 Volunteer
The Sikh Coalition is proud to offer a summer volunteer program for high school students. This program provides high school students the opportunity to gain valuable skillsets including research, team-building and communication skills, while gaining hands-on experience in promoting the civil and human rights of all individuals.
In past years, volunteers have worked to further the mission of the Sikh Coalition by working on projects including school bullying reports, communications listserves and office operations. Our volunteers have the chance to make a valuable change in the Sikh community through their involvement in the Sikh Coalition’s ground-breaking work.
Program Details: The three week high school summer volunteer program will be from July 9 - July 25, 2013. Volunteers will be asked to spend three days a week in the New York City office.
