June 9, 2016 (Orange County, CA) – Last month, the local sangat partnered with the Sikh Coalition to bring the Bowl-a-thon to Southern California for the very first time and the results were a resounding success. On May 22, 2016, over 200 enthusiastic bowlers and cheerleaders ‘bowled a strike for Sikh rights’ at Lucky Strike Orange while DJ Sukh spun bhangra beats. The event provided an opportunity for the Southern California sangat to celebrate the Sikh identity and the hard work that is being done to fight for Sikh civil rights in California and across the United States. The fundraiser raised over $43,000 to support the work of the Sikh Coalition.
