Dear Supporter Ji,
We can’t believe that a month has already passed since The Sikh Project hit New York. When we embarked on this photography exhibition in collaboration with U.K. photographers, Amit and Naroop, our baseline goal was to share positive stories about the Sikh American community 15 years after 9/11. We wanted to show our collective strength, beauty and enduring resilience to the American public in a way that had never been proactively done before.
We achieved that goal! Over 6,500 people (over 85% non-Sikh) visited the exhibition and we reached another 20 million Americans with empowering stories of Sikh Americans through U.S. news. Additionally, BBC aired a video segment to over 300 million households globally.
This project’s success would not have been possible without the financial investment of community members like you. Your support today will help us ensure that we can continue our legal and advocacy work while unlocking the potential for the Sikh Project as a way to educate our fellow Americans.
If you believe that the Sikh Project made an impact in sharing our collective story, we ask that you donate generously today: www.sikhdonate.org.
Together, this is what we were able to accomplish:
