Dear Supporter Ji,

In two weeks, we will mark the five-year anniversary of one of the deadliest attacks in an American house of worship in our nation’s history. On August 5, 2012, a gunman with neo-Nazi ties walked into the Oak Creek, Wisconsin gurdwara and took the lives of six Sikhs, injuring several more.

Five years later, I remain in awe of the courage, perseverance and resilience that the Oak Creek sangat has shown in response to this hate. It would mean a great deal to the community if you and your family can find the time to be there in person to show solidarity on Saturday, August 5th.

There are still two weeks left for you to sign up for the annual Chardhi Kala 6K Memorial Run and Walk. The event will be held on the August 5th anniversary to honor those injured and in remembrance of the lives horrifically taken: Paramjit Kaur Saini, Sita Singh, Ranjit Singh, Prakash Singh, Suveg Singh Khattra, and Satwant Singh Kaleka.

To register for the event, please click here. To share the event on social media, please check out the Chardhi Kala 6K Facebook event page and share using #RememberOakCreek.

We hope you can make it. Your support in our shared efforts to combat and prevent hate is as important as it has ever been.

Chardi Kala,
