Pearson PLC, which is the largest book publisher and education company in the world, employed Blue Chalk Media to produce the video. The Sikh Coalition teamed up with SALDEF to support Blue Chalk with the background research and subject sourcing for the production. This video project now serves as supplemental online content for two world religion textbooks, Living Religions
and World Religions
, as students learn about Sikhism.
"The Sikh Coalition and SALDEF provided the support we needed to move forward with our Sikhism video for Pearson," said Blue Chalk Producer Léo Hamelin. "Their excellent, timely guidance on Sikh sources was critical as we worked to produce a high-impact documentary video that will reach students across America."
From the Sikh Coalition working with CNN’s United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell
on a groundbreaking hour-long documentary about the Sikh experience
to correcting errors in our nation’s textbooks and securing the seventh state victory that further enables students across the country to learn about Sikhism in their schools
, we continue to find innovative ways to further the education goals of the Sikh community in America.
“We would like to thank Blue Chalk Media for engaging the Sikh Coalition and SALDEF for this partnership as both Sikh organizations continue our tireless work to educate the public about the Sikh faith, traditions and community,” said Sikh Coalition Education Director Pritpal Kaur.
