Dear Supporter Ji,
Last week, we launched the first-ever back-to-school toolkit designed to make it easy for Sikh parents and kids to engage their local educators in every area of Sikh awareness, school bullying and religious rights.
As the Sikh Coalition’s Education Director, I am excited to add this toolkit to our ever-growing organizational efforts to create safe and inclusive classrooms for our children nationwide.
In order to maximize this effort, we need your help.
As part of the toolkit, we have created a Sikhism Educator’s Guide. This guide is explicitly designed for you to share with educators to equip them with lesson plans for teaching Sikhism. This resource provides them with a depth of valuable information regarding the Sikh community, traditions and faith.
1) Share the Sikhism Educator’s Guide with your local state board of education. We make it easy. Just click the link, fill in your details and the guide will be sent directly to those who influence the education of the Sikh children in your state.
2) Text or email your friends and family and tell them to join you in this effort! The more our community engages locally the more influence we have in shaping the experience of our Sikh children in the classroom. Tell your friends and family to text SIKH EDUCATOR GUIDE to 52886 and within seconds they will be able to join you.
For more information about the back-to-school toolkit, the Sikhism Educator’s Guide or to discuss opportunities about how the Sikh Coalition can support you or your community in outreach efforts to educators, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chardi Kala (eternal optimism),
The Sikh Coalition
