Dear Supporter Ji,

This November, California will celebrate Sikh Awareness & Appreciation Month and the Sikh Coalition is hard at work to make it the most successful ever! We are inviting you to three special October events to kickstart Sikh awareness.

Sikh Project Exhibition Launch Oct. 27 – Sacramento, CA

Since 2016, the critically-acclaimed Sikh Project photography exhibition reached millions of Americans coast-to-coast. To celebrate Sikh Awareness Month, 30 portraits will be on display at the California Museum in Sacramento and we want to invite you to our October 27, 2018 reception launching the exhibition.

WHAT: A family-friendly reception to launch the Sikh Project, the brilliant photography of Amit and Naroop, that tells the inspiring journey of Sikh Americans.

WHEN: Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

WHERE: California Museum, 1020 O Street, Sacramento, California 95814. The museum is accessible to people of all abilities. Please click here for parking information.

RSVP: Click here to RSVP for this free event now. After 10/5, we cannot guarantee a ticket.

The exhibition runs from October 27, 2018 through January 27, 2019. For questions, email sikhproject@sikhcoalition.org.

LA Clippers Sikh Awareness Game Oct. 28 – Los Angeles, CA

We are also excited to announce our fifth annual “Sikh Awareness Night” with the LA Clippers.

TO SIGN UP FOR THE EVENT, CLICK HERE & USE PROMO CODE “SIKH”

The date is Sunday, October 28th against the Washington Wizards and special ticket blocks are now on sale. The 6:30 pm game will feature Sikh youth basketball players, a Sikh national anthem performance, Sikh color guard, and Punjabi halftime entertainment.

Email events@sikhcoalition.org for information about how you and your children can enter a raffle to access the “Fan Tunnel,” which is a special greeting zone to meet the NBA players before the game, and other fun activities. Priority will be given to youth 21 and under. Include name, email, phone and age.

The Sikh Coalition has requested kirpan accommodations, but we continue to be told that this is an NBA security issue at all stadiums and cannot be made by the Clippers at this time. The Sikh Coalition remains 100% committed to fighting for kirpan accommodations in every public setting, and we will continue to apply pressure to change this policy.

Sikh Awareness Presenter Training Oct. 6 – Santa Ana, CA

Finally, as we plan for California Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month, the Sikh Coalition will conduct a Sikh awareness presenter training on October 6, 2018. This training will give YOU the skills to walk into a classroom, workplace or any public forum and deliver a Sikh awareness presentation that is accurate, informative and engaging.

WHAT: Sikh Awareness Presenter Training

WHEN: October 6, 2018 from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

WHERE: The Delhi Center. 505 E Central Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92707 | Room #103
