Dear Supporter Ji,
I’m writing to update you on some exciting things happening in the Greater St. Louis area.
On May 4th and 5th, the Sikh Coalition - our nation’s largest Sikh civil rights organization - will be in St. Louis to conduct a Sikh awareness presenter training for sangat members, and we invite you to join us! This training will provide the skills and the knowledge to walk into a classroom, workplace or any other public forum and deliver a Sikh awareness presentation that is accurate, informative and highly engaging.
WHAT: Sikh Presenter's Course Training
WHEN: May 4, 2019, from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
WHERE: Sikh Study Circle of St. Louis, 116 Willis Rd, St Peters, MO 63376
This training has been successfully designed and implemented in other sangats across the country, and we are excited to be bringing it to St. Louis! Volunteers are expected to be willing to conduct a minimum of two trainings per year. Hurry to RSVP because space is filling up very quickly!
In addition, the Sikh Coalition will join the sangat on Sunday, May 5th, to host a Back-to-School Presentation that will dive into the larger topic of religion-based bullying in schools. As we all know, this is a challenging topic that remains a hard part of our community’s experience, but the Sikh Coalition will shed light on the resources available to us and how to handle school bullying situations many of our community members have faced. We will also host a screening of the new CBS Religion and Culture documentary, which features stories of Sikh resilience through faith and resolve.
We hope you will join us, and we look forward to seeing you!
on behalf of Gurudwara Sikh Study Circle of St. Louis Management Committee
