Dear Supporter Ji,
The Junior Sikh Coalition is proud to announce our Art & Poetry Competition! With the world going through so many changes in these uncertain times, we want to give our youth at home an outlet to express their creativity. In this time of social distancing, it is important for us to remain connected, so we created this competition to stay engaged in community while we are all apart.
The Art & Poetry Competition will be open to folks under the age of 26 and will be judged in four different age categories (0-8, 9-12, 13-16, and 17-26). Winners will get a chance to be featured on the Sikh Coalition’s social media, and all submissions will be celebrated and shared online to spread positivity in our community.
For ages 0-8 and 9-12, we are asking for submissions on the theme of “Community.” In this time of uncertainty, we would like to encourage the youth to think about the communities they are a part of, and how they may be interacting with them now.
For ages 13-16 and 17-26, we encourage participants to submit art or poetry surrounding the theme of “Resilience.” To get through these unprecedented times, we will have to be resilient--but this looks different for everyone. What does resilience look like for you?
To submit, please upload a picture of your artwork or a PDF of your poetry to this form.
The deadline to submit is Friday, May 1. We hope that you will take this opportunity to create and reflect, as well as to spread hope through our community.
