  • COVID-19 Small Business Resources for Pennsylvania

    July 3, 2020 (Philadelphia, PA) -- Governor Wolf has recently announced a $225 million grant program to assist small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Grants between $5,000 to $50,000 are available, and business can apply now to offset the lost revenue caused by the pandemic.

    The Sikh Coalition recommends that you submit your application as early as possible to obtain funding. The first application window closes at 11:59 PM on July 14, 2020. While applications will continue to be accepted 10 business days after the deadline, late applications will be considered for future rounds of funding. However, no additional rounds of funding have been announced by the governor at this time.

    Non-profits, gurdwaras, and other religious institutions are not eligible for this grant. It is only meant for businesses physically located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that experienced revenue loss and additional costs due to COVID-19.

    To apply for grant money, submit your application by July 14 by clicking here.

    • Located in areas of need (such as serves incomes significantly below median income level, high levels of poverty, higher than average unemployment rates, or significant population loss);

    • Women-owned, or at least 51 percent owned and operated by persons who are Black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian American, or Pacific Islander; or
    • Targeted for business investment by state programs like Main Street and Elm Street, and rural communities.

    To apply for grant money, submit your application by July 14 by clicking here.

    Businesses will need the following information to complete their applications:

    • Government Issued Photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport);
    • Proof of business registration with the Pennsylvania Department of State, such as Articles of Incorporation (for corporations and LLCs), Fictitious Name Registration/”Doing Business As” (for Sole Proprietors), or business license; and
