Dear Supporter Ji,

I am writing from the Sikh Coalition with an exciting new volunteer opportunity. Phone banking is a critical step in GOTV (Get Out The Vote) work where volunteers call voters (using publicly available voter data) to remind them of the upcoming election and answer questions about polling locations, mail-in ballots, and more. We are excited to announce that the Sikh Coalition is recruiting sevadaars specifically to call Sikh voters in key states in advance of the U.S. elections this fall!

Our virtual phone banking will take place every Saturday from Saturday, September 26 to Saturday, October 17. This is a prime opportunity for long-time Sikh Coalition sevadaars like you to have a real impact on voter turnout and election results this year, while also helping us learn more about the Sikh community across the country. Sevadaars will be calling thousands of Sikh households in key states, including Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, and Texas. The sessions will be done remotely via Zoom, and you do not have to live in one of these states in order to participate.

At each of our three-hour phone banking sessions, sevadaars will receive a tailored virtual training on how to make their calls using our CallHub tool and then have access to real time support from Sikh Coalition staff as they make calls. Sign up for at least one of the four sessions--to be held the Saturdays of September 26, October 3, October 10, and October 17 from 2-5 PM EST and complete your screening survey today in order to reserve your spot!

You must complete a survey and sign up in advance so that we can create your CallHub account before your chosen date(s). Please note that all sevadaars who choose to phone bank are expected to attend the full three hour slot they sign up for and will need access to a computer, headphones, and a stable wifi connection throughout their three-hour session. Each sevadaar will also need to sign an ethics agreement before phone banking to ensure that everyone respects the privacy of those we are calling.

As a reminder, the Sikh Coalition is a non-profit and non-partisan organization. All of our GOTV work--including these calls to voters--is being done in support of broader Sikh American civic engagement, and not for the benefit of any candidate, elected official, or political party. For this reason, please note that those who sign up to make calls will not be permitted to encourage voters to cast their ballot for President Trump, former Vice President Biden, or any other party or candidate.

Sign up today before slots fill up, and please let me know if you have any questions. You can also email gotv@sikhcoalition.org or visit www.sikhcoalition.org/gotv for more information about voter registration, voting by mail, and other election-related topics.
