  • Registration Open for Virtual Social Justice Summit!

November 9, 2020 (New York, NY) -- More Americans voted in the U.S. elections this year than ever before. At its core, the decision to vote represents activism at it's finest because it is a conscious decision to participate in the civic process.

This week, as Americans continue to process the democratic outcome of Election Day, we are proud to announce the Sikh Coalition’s Social Justice Virtual Summit--the latest installment in our series of virtual programming explicitly designed to explore deepening Sikh activism in areas of racial and social justice.

The Social Justice Virtual Summit is taking place the weekend of December 5 – 6, 2020. Sikh students and young professionals are encouraged to join us for this completely free virtual weekend retreat that will focus on racial and social justice issues, and how our rising generation of Sikh leaders can build allyship.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN: Click here to reserve your spot for our Social Justice Virtual Summit. (Only 100 seats available!) If you know of any Sikh student or young professional who should join this conversation, please share this registration page with them.

Once you register, you are expected to attend the summit for the entire weekend. Attendees will learn from community leaders, activists, and national experts on topics ranging from LQBTQ rights, environmental justice through the lens of Indigenous peoples, voter suppression, racial inequalities, and more. In addition, attendees will have opportunities to join interactive breakout sessions to converse and reflect on the topics at hand--in turn, creating an atmosphere for learning and sangat-building.

“We hope that by introducing these civil rights issues from the perspectives of non-Sikh marginalized voices, our future generations of Sikh leaders can better understand how they can use their privilege to serve as allies, and how to grow as activists,” said Inderpreet Kaur, Southern California Community Development Manager.

To our next generation of Sikh leaders, this summit is for you.
Join us for this impactful weekend by registering here.

This two-day summit builds off the success of our Summer Series program that brought together thousands of Sikhs into a virtual space earlier this year. As we continue to face these unprecedented challenges, the Sikh Coalition will continue to invest in virtual programming that helps build community. We look forward to releasing the final summit schedule in mid-November.

As always, the Sikh Coalition urges you to practice your faith fearlessly.
