  • Help Plant Trees at Arsenal Park to Honor Eight Lives Lost

April 21, 2022 (Indianapolis, IN) – On Saturday, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and the Eway Foundation are hosting the Great Indy Cleanup at Arsenal Park beginning at 8:45 AM EDT.

During this event, volunteers help clean up the park and plant 150 trees. This year, the Sikh Coalition will sponsor eight trees, which will be planted in honor of Matthew R. Alexander, Samaria Blackwell, Amarjeet Kaur Johal, Jasvinder Kaur, Jaswinder Singh, Amarjit Sekhon, Karli Smith, and John “Steve” Weisert.

We hope that you will register to volunteer for the tree planting and the park cleanup to help honor the eight lives tragically lost in the 2021 FedEx shooting.

WHEN: Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 8:45 AM EDT. The program will last approximately three hours.
WHERE: Arsenal Park (1201 E 46th St, Indianapolis, IN 46205).
RSVP: Registration is required to attend; click here to sign up.

The volunteer event will also include a brief program where family members, community leaders, and Mayor Hogsett have been invited to speak. If you are attending, please register in advance and encourage your family and friends to join you this Saturday.

As always, the Sikh Coalition urges you to practice your faith fearlessly.
