March 22, 2011 (Washington, DC) - The Sikh Coalition is pleased to announce and invite applications for its inaugural
Sikh Advocate Academy. Led by experienced social justice advocates and featuring guest speakers from government agencies, media outlets, and civil rights organizations, this intensive, week-long workshop during June 2011 in Washington DC will train approximately 12 individuals on the same advocacy techniques used by the Sikh Coalition to achieve justice.
Successful applicants will have all expenses paid for their training, including meals, travel, and
hotel accommodations, as well as an opportunity to visit Congressional offices on Capitol Hill.
In return for the training, trained Sikh Coalition Advocates must agree to initiate advocacy efforts in their local communities.
