The Sikh Coalition is conducting a survey of the major needs affecting the California Bay Area Sikh community. There are two versions of the survey-one for adults and one for children. The surveys are available online and in hard copy at local Bay Area Gurdwaras. The hard copy version is in Punjabi and English.
The data will be used to develop the Sikh Coalition’s Bay Area Civil Right’s Agenda for the upcoming years. It is important that we have evidence to support our arguments when asking policy makers to address the concerns most impacting Sikhs in the Bay Area. Policy makers require validated statistics and stories before they are willing to take concrete action. Without your participation we can not do high quality work to protect the Sikh way of life. Take the survey today!
The Sikh Coalition did a similar needs survey in New York City (NYC). Based on the data gathered we created a civil rights agenda that called policy makers to take action on school bullying. Today the lives of 1.1 million students are affected by a city-wide Regulation, requiring the Department of Education to address bias-based harassment.
