It’s been four years since Andrew Cuomo first ran for Governor on the promise to fix Albany’s culture of corruption by passing public financing of elections. We were really encouraged when Cuomo put Fair Elections in his Executive Budget proposal. But now, instead of championing it in closed-door budget negotiations, he’s letting the senate Republicans kill his proposal.
Governor Cuomo is eight days away from letting another opportunity to pass meaningful reform slip by. Send him a message now, tell him that fixing New York’s broken campaign finance system can’t wait another year.
