Senators Cantwell and Murray just passed expanded health care for children, fighting off anti-immigrant amendments to the bill.

Now, an anti-immigrant amendment threatens the integrity of Obama's stimulus package, legislation which includes billions of dollars in investments to health care.

This amendment would require businesses receiving money from the stimulus package to investigate their employees’ eligibility to work in the US through the use of a national database called “E-Verify.”  The “E-Verify” database is riddled with error, would cost businesses money, and has been documented to promote workplace discrimination.

Please email Senators Cantwell and Murray and ask them to remove the E-verify provision when they take up the stimulus bill.
