ADA’s hosting two very exciting events tomorrow!  First, the ADA Education Fund is hosting the 3rd Annual Jontz Lecture on "Health Care: Perspective from the States".  This free lecture will be held at 12 noon - 1:30 pm at 1540 Longworth House Office Building on Capitol Hill and is an annual panel honoring the life and values of James “Jim” Prather Jontz.  Find more details here!

Then, Tuesday evening marks the 64th Annual ADA Award’s Banquet!  This year, we’re proud to honor three amazing leaders:

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi - Frances Perkins Award for Government Service
NEA President Dennis Van Roekel - Reuther-Chavez Award for Labor Leadership
Jack Blum, Esq. - Winn Newman Lifetime Achievement Award

The ballroom will be overflowing with supporters, so if you’re one of the lucky ticket holders, please remember that the reception will start at 6p at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel.  More information can be found here!

The Push for Jobs

Last Thursday, the President addressed a joint session of Congress on the jobs crisis and unveiled the American Jobs Act.   Read ADA’s response to President Obama’s speech here.

ADA Supporting Nurses & Average Tax Payers

ADA National Director Michael J. Wilson was one of the speakers at a demonstration outside the office of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA). ADA joined with union nurses and supporters in Virginia’s capital as part of a nationwide “Tax Wall Street, Save Main Street” protest for fair federal tax and spending policies.

  • The facts are indisputable.  Read ADA’s National Directors latest op-ed on the future of marriage equality in the United States here.
  • Read the latest from ADA blogger Bob Lucore on President Obama’s job proposal -- the American Jobs Act.
  • ADA’s Working Families Win has been busy this year asking the Republican candidates the questions that affect you and me.  In this Washington Post article, WFW organizer Jamie Contois questions Rick Perry on his proposed jobs program.
