Historic Week for Equal Rights
In a historic move, President Obama announced his support for same-sex couples’ right to marry, while North Carolina voters outlawed civil unions (even for heterosexual couples!). ADA commends President Obama for courageously standing up for the rights of all Americans. We are disappointed that North Carolina voters rejected the rights of thousands of its residents. The last time North Carolina amended its constitution was in 1875 in order to ban interracial marriage, a ban not stricken from the books until 1971. Perhaps with a larger turnout, and increased education, the result would have been different.

Invest in American -- Buy American!
This Mother's Day, we encouraged you to make it an All-American Mother's Day. We can all help to rebuild America's middle class by simply checking the tag or asking our local merchants where their products were produced. By purchasing American-made products, we are investing in American industries and jobs. So next time you make a purchase, won't you think about buying American and supporting the middle class?
