The Political Storm
There's a storm brewing, and we're not referring to hurricane Sandy. The election is next week, and we need your help. ADA's Political Action Committee (ADA/PAC) is supported by people - like you - who believe that government should work for everyone, not just special interests or the ultra-wealthy.
For the last 65 years, the ADA/PAC has worked to elect hundreds of liberal leaders, and today we are proud to support the following candidates:
Tammy Baldwin (WI)
Shelley Berkley (NV)
Sherrod Brown (OH)
Mazie Hirono (HI)
Elizabeth Warren (MA)
Chris Murphy (CN)
Raul Grijalva (AZ-3) Steny Hoyer (MD-5)
Julia Brownley (CA-26) Keith Ellison (MN-5)
Raul Ruiz (CA-36) Carol Shea-Porter (NH-1)
Mark Takano (CA-41) Ann Kuster (NH-2)
Alan Grayson (FL-9) Dina Titus (NV-1)
Bruce Braley (IA-1) Joyce Beatty (OH-3)
David Loebsack (IA-2) Betty Sutton (OH-16)
Leonard Boswell (IA-3) Manan Trivedi (PA-6)
David Gill (IL-13) Kathy Boockvar (PA-8)
Cheri Bustos (IL-17) Jamie Wall (WI-8)
These candidates are in tough races. Because of you, the ADA/PAC has been able to support and endorse these leaders who represent all Americans.
The storm has just begun -- the results of the election depend on one thing -- the ground game. That’s why we’ve added more organizers in more communities across the country, thanks to your generous contributions. With only a week to go, help us maximize Americans for Democratic Action’s Get Out The Vote (GOTV) program by sending a contribution today. 100% of your donation will go towards GOTV activities to educate and mobilize voters in nearly 30 key communities! Celebrating Barney Frank
ADA’s reception to Honor Rep. Barney Frank is just around the corner. We will be celebrating the former ADA President and his legendary career on Thursday, November 8th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the New York City home of Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul, and Mary).
Space is filling up fast, so purchase your tickets to this exciting event today!
Tax Fairness in Delaware
As part of an effort to ensure that two key Democrats don't buckle to corporate pressure during the "fiscal cliff" negotiations, ADA's tax fairness campaign in Delaware will hold a press conference on Monday, November 12. Speakers will call on Delaware's senators to back higher taxes on the wealthy as an indispensable part of any year-end deficit-reduction deal. ADA's organizer in Delaware, Ezra Temko, is staging the event as part of his broader community organizing efforts around tax equity and public investment.
