Fair taxes, Not Cuts!
ADA knows that the fight for tax fairness is far from over. While Social Security and Medicare were left intact in the recent "fiscal cliff" deal, Republican conservatives are strategizing how to force $1 billion in across-the-board cuts when the funding extension expires in May.
That’s why ADA and our Working Families Win project held a Tax Fairness Congressional Call-in Day and events across the country last Wednesday calling for “Fair taxes, Not Cuts!” With your help, we made thousands of calls to the Capitol and held events featuring leading tax fairness experts.
ADA on the NRA’s Enemy List
In the face of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, among countless other instances of gun violence, the National Rifle Association (NRA) continues to cling to their guns and monied power. Instead of common sense measures to protect our communities, the NRA is calling for more guns in our schools and on the streets.
ADA supports reasonable measures to tame gun violence, like banning semi-automatic assault weapons. Because of this, we’ve made the NRA’s enemy list. And we couldn’t be more proud.
Help us show the NRA that their enemy list is actually a progressive endorsement of ADA by sending in a special contribution today!
Tell us what you think!
It’s that time of year again. For the 65th year, ADA is preparing its annual ADA Voting Record. This week, we are finalizing the top 20 votes from the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. We have our list, but we want to hear from you... what were the critical votes in the 112th Congress? Send us your suggestions, and keep an eye out for the release of the 2012 ADA Voting Record in early March.
