"Healthiest Iowa Initiative" Launched Today
Today in Iowa, ADA and a wide array of groups joined together to launch a “Healthiest Iowa Initiative” to educate and ensure Iowa passes the Medicaid Expansion, which would expand the Medicaid program to needy Iowans who would otherwise be left without medical care. Learn more here.
This new and growing coalition includes Americans for Democratic Action, Iowa Alliance of Retired Americans, Iowa Federation of Labor, Planned Parenthood, Iowa Citizen Action Network, Main Street Alliance, Progress Iowa, South Central Iowa Federation of Labor, AFSCME State Council 61, Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, Iowa State Education Association, Working Families Win, Hawkeye Labor Council, The National Association of Social Workers, Iowa Human Needs Advocate, and the Iowa Independent Living Council.
Bank of America: Put the Green Back in the Budget
For corporations like Bank of America, Verizon and DuPont, their pot of gold is not at the end of the rainbow; it's in the Cayman Islands! On St. Patrick's Day, ADA's Indiana chapter protested outside of Bank of America, calling on the corporation to pay their fair share and put the GREEN back in the budget.
