Economic Recovery Bill Passes
President Obama will sign the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law today. Thanks to your efforts, the bill is a much more liberal approach to dealing with the economic crisis. It includes provisions for food stamps, unemployment, state aid, education, and invests heavily in new energy and infrastructure. The bill's tax cuts are also structured progressively. Give yourselves a pat on the back for producing tens of thousands of calls and emails to Congress in support of this bill.
Moving Congress Forward
Congress is in recess until next week when items on the agenda will include extending voting rights to the District of Columbia and the housing crisis. Be sure to stay in the fight by renewing your 2009 ADA membership dues.
