Take Action and Support D.C. Voting Rights
Thanks to your efforts, the Senate decided yesterday to take up a DC voting rights bill for the first time since the 1970's. We applaud all of you that acted and contacted your Senators in support of this historic vote.
The battle is not yet won though.
"Washington residents are American citizens who pay taxes, vote for the President and serve and die in the military. The lack of voting representation for citizens of the capital of the world's strongest democracy is an outrage and should be a source of real embarrassment for all of our nation's leaders", stated Amy Isaacs, ADA National Director.
Please send an e-mail to your Senator or Representative (a similar bill is moving forward in the House) and tell them to support D.C. voting rights! Click here to use ADA's online advocacy tools.
Don't like email? You can call your Representative toll free at 866-544-7573 or use the capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121.
