Health Care Fight Brewing on Hill

The next major battle on Capitol Hill will be over health care and ADA is ready for it.  ADA has advocated for a national health service since 1972 and has been at the forefront of the current fight for a single-payer plan that covers everybody.  We plan to continue that fight.

You can join in the fight by going to ADA's website and visiting the health care reform page.  You'll find the latest updates, reports, opinions, videos, and be able to lobby your lawmakers for a single-payer.  All in one place!  Get active now!

Senator McGovern Wrong on EFCA

Because Senator George McGovern is a former ADA president whom we enthusiastically supported in his bid to become US President and because we agree with him far more often than not, we write today more in sorrow than in anger.  We couldn't disagree more with Senator McGovern's position on the Employee Free Choice Act.  His op-ed in the Wall Street Journal is, quite simply, wrong from start to finish.  Read the full response here.

Also, the Chicago chapter of ADA is hosting forums on EFCA.  Take a look.

Give to the ADA Education Fund

"Did you know that you can give to the ADA Education Fund using your American Express card?  Recently, I converted points into cash for the ADA Education Fund.  You can also, by going to americanexpress.com/GrowHope.  You can use American Expresse's Fee-Free Charity Certificates to give money directly or to convert points.  It's easy, and it made me feel good.  Why not check it out and give it a try today?"
