A Public Health Care Option in the Senate
Senators Rockefeller (D-WV) and Schumer (D-NY) are working to add a public option to the toothless health care reform bill drafted by the Senate Finance Committee. This critical vote is scheduled for tomorrow.
ADAction: Contact your lawmakers and tell them you want the choice of a public health care option. Also, send this letter to the editor to help combat the lies being spread by opponents of health care reform.
Unemployed for a day, you can make it. Unemployed for a month, you will struggle. Unemployed for six months, disaster. It's not just how many are unemployed, it's for how long. Read Michael J. Wilson's latest blog on Huffington Post here.
ADAction: Email your Senators and tell them to pass now the same extension the House passed last week. We cannot delay.
Be Smart - Join ADA Now
I'm Sally, an ADA member in Pennsylvania. I renewed my 2010 ADA membership today, early and online. I know that by renewing online more of my dollars go to ADA's programs since it eliminates the cost of sending my renewal notice through the mail. Honestly, I'm feeling kind of smug about being so smart! You can do the same thing right now and renew here!
Keep the Pressure on the House to Pass ENDA
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) would extend fair employment practices under federal law to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. It is based on the labor principle that every worker should be judged solely on his or her merits as a worker.
ADAction: Send this email to your Representative asking him/her to support ENDA.
