Welcome to the 112th Congress
The 112th Congress will be sworn in on Wednesday January 5, 2011. This Congress is the result of the disappointing 2010 election, and will have to go a long way to match the achievements of the 111th Congress. As opposed to real legislative achievements, they plan on rolling back health care and launching full-scale investigations into the Obama Administration. With grassroots activists all over the nation, ADA will keep a close eye on the new Republican agenda.
Expected Leadership Roles
The leadership roles for the 112th Congress are expected to be:
House: Speaker - John Boehner (R-OH); Majority Leader - Eric Cantor (R-VA); Majority Whip - Kevin McCarthy ( R-CA); Minority Leader - Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Minority Whip - Steny Hoyer (D-MD)
Senate: Majority Leader - Harry Reid (D-AZ); Majority Whip - Dick Durbin (D-IL); Minority Leader - Mitch McConnell (R-KY); Minority Whip - Jon Kyl (R-AZ)
