2010 Voting Record Released

The 2010 ADA Congressional Voting Record is now available!

The ADA Congressional Voting Record has been issued every year since 1947.  It reflects 20 key votes on domestic and foreign policy and is the standard indicator of American political ideology.  In 2010, there were only 3 GOP Moderates in the House, while there were 90 "Zeros"!  Get it here!

Recess Is Over

Congress reconvenes this week without a clear path to a budget deal, which once again threatens a shutdown of the federal government.  Congressional Tea Party Supports claim they won’t sign onto another short-term bill of the type that's been keeping the government running for the past six months. While a moderate “Gang of Six”, White House and Capitol Hill staffers, seek to negotiate a compromise yet.  The GOP's proposed cuts in discretionary spending and entitlement programs would cause hardship in many communities, but a shutdown may slam the breaks on the economic recovery.

ADA's Working Families Win Celebrates the Anniversary of the Affordable Care Act

In New Hampshire, Working Families Win organizer Jamie Contois organized a a community celebration in honor of the anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act.  In attendance were physicians, nurses, medical professionals, State Representatives and Senators, students, families and cancer survivors.

  • On April 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, where he had gone to stand in solidarity with sanitation workers seeking to fulfill their dream: The right to bargain collectively for a voice at work and a better life.  Join us in solidarity with working people in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and dozens of other states where corporate funded, right-wing politicians are trying to take away the rights Dr. King gave his life for: the right to organize, to bargain collectively, to work together for justice and prosperity.
  • The largest class action case in U.S. history will be heard by the Supreme Court tomorrow -- a million-and-a-half female Wal-Mart employees are suing Wal-Mart for gender pay discrimination. Women make up 70% of their workforce, but are less than 1/3 of management.
