Like you, I care about the state of Wisconsin. I care about the people, the communities, and our way of life. I'm proud that we respect and uphold the rule of law, while ensuring that law reflects our values.
That’s why I proud to support JoAnne Kloppenburg for State Supreme Court Justice. Endorsed by the Capital Times and the Wassau Daily Herald, she has more than two decades of service working for both Democratic and Republican Attorneys General in the Wisconsin Department of Justice. I know that she wants to uphold the law, instead of being a partisan rubber stamp like her opponent, former House Speaker Prosser.
As Wisconsinites, we know the importance of an independent judiciary for protecting civil liberties, civil rights, and the rule of law. We want justices who will speak truth to power - not agree with the Governor simply for political reasons. That’s why I am asking you to join me in supporting the candidate that best represents our values on the State Supreme Court: the values of independence, fealty to the law, and holding no one above the law.
Here are the three things you can do -
1) Vote for JoAnne Kloppenburg for State Supreme Court Justice. You don’t have to wait until April 5th - you can vote today.
2) Forward this message to 5 friends. Even with corporate interest groups spending big money on misleading attack ads, this election is expected to have low-turnout. Therefore, early votes will count more than ever! Our goal is to encourage every voter to participate!
3) Send a contribution to Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) so they can continue to make a difference speaking truth to power wherever and whenever a progressive voice is needed. That’s why Eleanor Roosevelt helped to start ADA six decades ago. I am proud to be one of their members in Wisconsin, and I am glad that you are too.
Thanks for your attention, and I look forward to celebrating a victory for with you on April 5th.
