Vote for our final grant winner!
Thanks to supporters like you, we were able to give nearly $2,000 in infrastructure-building grants to College Democrats across America in the last few weeks.
We also set aside a pool of money to make sure that chapters have the resources they need to support health care reform in particular.
Yesterday, we announced the first-round winners of those grants — three College Democrats chapters in Florida, Wyoming, and Washington, DC. Every penny will go to build support on college campuses for health care reform. Thank you.
And here’s the best news about those health-care grants: the response from students was overwhelming. More than a dozen chapters applied for the limited amount of grant funding we have left. With so many fantastic applications, we want to open it up and give the students of one more chapter the resources to knock it out of the park.
The finalists are:
Austin Peay State University
in Tennessee, which will use the funds to create a health-care reform informational booth at the annual GHOST Halloween event – getting the message out about reform to local parents.
University of Central Florida
near Orlando, which will be dressing up in scrubs to pass out thousands of pieces of pro-reform literature on campus and urge fellow students to contact Senator Bill Nelson’s office.
