Chris Kelly's "Innovation First" Plan

California's next Attorney General will face a profound challenge: How do we improve our law enforcement efforts in the midst of a budget crisis and severe economic recession?

The answer, in short, is technology and innovation. California's next Attorney General must possess a profound understanding of cutting-edge technology available to law enforcement.

With my background as a policy advisor to President Bill Clinton, my experience working with Attorneys General from around the country, and my time serving as Chief Privacy Officer of Facebook, I will be ready from day one to use technology to make crime-fighting more efficient and effective.

As California's next Attorney General, I will:

1. Improve Use of Advanced Forensics to Solve Crime.
2. Standardize Crime Mapping Across California.
3. Develop and Implement an Effective Global Positioning System (GPS) Monitoring System.
4. Prevent High-Tech, Internet and Computer Crime.
5. Fix our Outdated Computer Systems and Save Taxpayers Millions.

The same old policies of the past are not working. Together, we can create a new and safer California.
