Almost two years after the recession began, millions of Americans who want to work still can’t find a job. Communities of color have been hit especially hard: Latino unemployment is at 13%, compared to 10% unemployment overall.
Our leaders need to do more to target the hardest-hit communities with job opportunities. Right now, the White House and Congress are considering ways to build on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create more jobs. We need to tell our leaders that minority workers want the same thing as all Americans: the chance to work and provide for their families.
Tell President Obama and Congress to do more to create jobs in our communities!
