Stand Against Hate, Stand for Reform

Local Events Marking the End of Hispanic Heritage Month  (October 10-24, 2009)

Join the National Council of La Raza’s (NCLR) Stand Against Hate, Stand for Reform campaign, marking the end of Hispanic Heritage Month.  By planning an event in your area, you will join with advocates throughout the country to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and honor America’s history by pushing back on hateful rhetoric and advocating for immigration reform!

Now is the time to stand up to the voices of hatred and advocate for reform!
By hosting a local event, you will bring people together to learn about the faces of intolerance that threaten America’s diversity and advocate for an immigration system that reflects basic American values of fairness, justice, and equality.

At your local Stand Against Hate, Stand for Reform event, participants will:

-    Get informed by watching two short films on hate speech toward immigrants.
-    Discuss the films and what you can do to change the debate in your community.
-    Sign the petition for immigration reform and fight hate.
-    Plug into national networks and campaigns.

Register your event below.  Once you are registered, NCLR will be able to provide you with more information and materials leading up to your event.
