The ever-increasing estimates of U.S. natural gas supplies have offered enormous promise for national progress toward cleaner power and transportation, economic growth, and job creation. But health and safety concerns about "fracking" methods used to extract shale gas have led to calls for new regulation of this expanding industry. PPI will explore how shale gas is changing our energy landscape and the implications and challenges for policy makers in Washington and the states. Joining us to offer their perspectives will be White House energy and climate advisor Heather Zichal, Congressman Jason Altmire from Pennsylvania, American Gas Association President Dave McCurdy, and experts and representatives from the natural gas industry, the manufacturing sector, and the environmental community. PPI's new policy memo, "Rethinking Natural Gas," will also be discussed.
