NEW PPI POLICY BRIEF--TELECOM INVESTMENT: THE LINK TO U.S. JOBS AND WAGES
WASHINGTON, D.C. - May 9, 2011 - U.S. capital spending still lags even after the recession has officially ended. However, the communication sector is an important exception to the continued investment drought. Telecom and broadcasting companies have expanded their investment in new equipment and software by 45 percent since 2005.
In a new PPI policy brief, “Telecom Investment: The Link to U.S. Jobs and Wages," PPI Chief Economic Strategist Michael Mandel finds that the big telecom companies head the list of businesses investing in America.
