International Human Rights Day
Today, December 10, is International Human Rights Day, marking the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, signed in 1948 by the UN General Assembly in the wake of World War II.
Since that day, virtually every developed nation except the United States has realized that document's declaration that "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and his family, including... medical care."
Email your representatives in Congress today, and ask them to honor one of the rights most basic to human dignity by co-sponsoring single-payer legislation like HR 676.
Following up with a phone call or organizing a delegation to visit your legislators is the most effective way to move them!
